Who Do You Think You Are
The exhibition 'Who Do You Think You Are' explores a collection of family history stories and documents supplied by Tyne & Wear Archives Service Volunteers and original documents from the archives.
Putting flesh on the bones is an important and enjoyable aspect of family history research. Rather than having a list of names and dates, we put life back into our ancestors through studying the times they lived in, recording family legends and preserving old photographs. We recognise what was important in their lives and celebrate it.
This item from the exhibition was kindly supplied by Godfrey Duffy. It is a photograph of his Hughes grandparents taken on their honeymoon in South Shields, 1921.
